Movie Night – Aguirre, Wrath of God – Sunday 2nd July 2017

Neighbourhood Cinema movie night at CICCIC with ‘Aguirre Wrath of God” 7.00pm.
Werner Hertoz is one of the most interesting film makers around at the moment. more recently known for his documentary work, this film is one his early classics from 1972 filmed entirely on location in the Peruvian jungle about a man’s journey into madness. From the opening sequence showing the conquistadors crossing a high mountain pass you are hooked by the sheer audacity of this doomed voyage!

Storyline:
In the 16 century a group of Spanish Conquistadors journey through the jungles of South America searching for the legendary city of El Dorado with their military leader, the ruthless and increasingly insane, Don Lope de Aguirre.
