The DPQ (Daniel Pogorzelski Quartet) play acoustic jazz influenced by 50s/60s/Blue note.
Tenor, alto and soprano saxophone player Daniel Pogorzelski fell in love with jazz many years ago and is known by his friends as a jazz maniac. He plays with big bands and enjoys the excitement of his quartet project.
Drummer Matt Evans has played many musical styles from orchestral to heavy rock and jazz quartets. His main love is now jazz, especially Quartet Jazz from the ’50s and ’60s. Recently, he has co-founded the exciting new project – the DPQ ‘Daniel Pogorzelski Quartet’.
Guitar player Richard Llewelyn was brought up in a jazz mad household he has been playing guitar for 43 years. He has worked in education, and alongside artists such as Kathy Stobart, Tony Roberts, John Critchenson, Rosemary Squires – to name but a few.
Double bass player David Roberts has played and taught classical, jazz and many other styles of music. Currently he plays orchestral music, jazz on double bass and saxophones in a soul band. He enjoys playing live and improvisation.
