Hatpins to Hashtags, from the Feminist Archive South, is an exciting programme of free workshops, events and an exhibition. In this centenary year of votes for some women it celebrates women’s activism then, now and in the future and aims to reclaim the tools of democracy to mobilize activism. EXHIBITION: Politics and Protest: posters from the Women’s Liberation Movement 

These dynamic posters celebrate the activists of the Women’s Liberation Movement (1970-2000) who spoke out and campaigned against discrimination and inequality. They ask us to think: what has been achieved, what is still to be done?

Feminist Futures

Creative workshops for young people of all genders exploring UK democracy and gender inequality through the diverse herstories of women’s activism. See website for details.

Digital Democracy: taking activism online

Saturday 3rd & Tuesday 6th November, 10.00am-5.00pm. Free one-day workshops for women/non-binary people. See website for more details. Registration essential. 

Discussions and events

Tuesday 6th 7.00 pm. Speakers & discussion: ‘Taking on the media’ and a celebration of Just Women Magazine 1987-1997.

Saturday 10th –  Workshops and talks for young women trade unionists.

Sunday 11th – Drop in activities: badge, zine and poster making.

Creative Innovation Centre CIC, Memorial Hall, Paul Street, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 3PF, is conveniently located in Taunton Town Cente with a multi-storey car park just metres away and another single storey car park just 2 minutes away. Marks & Spencer’s car park is next door to us but can get busy. We have our own cafe bar and sell refreshments to help support fund raising for our Community Interest Company.
