Join the Fire River Poets at the Creative Innovation Centre (CICCIC) for poetry reading and socialising with other poets. Evenings start at 8.00 pm and finish around 10.00 pm. Break around 9.00 pm. Normally on the first Thursday of the month. Check the Fire River poets web page below for details. Readings have open floor sessions alongside the two sets by an invited guest poet; the poetry cafe has an initial set by a featured poet then read round by all poets present with informal discussion and debate throughout the evening.
Fire River Poets are delighted to welcome as our ninth and last guest for the year Erling Kittelsen from Norway, who will read for us on Thursday 6 December 2018.
This event is also a part of the International Arts Exhibition Programme supported by World Arts Games
Erling is a well known poet, novelist and playwright in his native Norway and has been translated into many languages. His explorations of folklore and myth (including the Viking sagas) have a universal appeal while striking a modern note. He will speak and read in English but may refer to the original Norwegian of the poems from time to time and there will be an opportunity to ask questions after the first half of his reading.
We are pleased to acknowledge that Erling Kittelsen’s reading has been facilitated as part of the celebration of international Art and Culture being presented in Taunton between 27th November 2018 and 12th January 2019 by the WAG (World Art Games) organisation.
Ideal for poets and poetry lovers. Guest poets and some performance poetry from time to time.
Access to the poetry community within Taunton and its surrounding towns and villages by attending.
To book a slot visit website www.fireriverpoets.org.uk or to just visit turn up on the night. £5pp.
