I am drawn to examine Mass and Space. From the man made to minute details present in nature. I am fascinated by ‘what lies beneath’. I moved to the South West just over 3 years ago and have spent a great deal of time investigating and responding to the surrounding coastal areas.
A complete change from the urban sprawl of South Manchester and the bleakness of the High Peak from whence l came.

I’ve always been interested in creating objects and stories as long as I can remember. I’ve been on a variety of short courses to get me started, and then did a Painting Course with The Open College of The Arts, followed with a PrintMaking Course with SCAT, where I obtained a HND. Unfortunately I was unable to paint nor use my printing press for long, as I became unwell. Much later I joined painting classes at CICCIC on Fridays and have found the confidence to paint and discover different ways mark making. I am mostly drawn to colour and mood in my paintings. Trying to create an atmosphere which will interest the viewer is my goal, and I hope that I have achieved some of that in the paintings in this exhibition.
