CICCIC is excited to present Eddie Martin, a singer song-writer, multi instrumentalist, One-Man-Band, Big Band, Band leader, composer, producer and arranger. He was born in London and grew up in Watford. He got into music as a little boy. Apart from singing at school, it was his mum’s Burl Ives Folk records. He did not come from very musical parents, but their r
elatives included many amateur and some professional musicians. He got his first guitar at age 15 and got into the British Rock and Folk revival before getting seriously into the blues. He always wrote his own stuff, solo and in a band. He did his first gig aged 16 with 2 chords and some of his mum’s poetry for lyrics.
Today, Eddie Martin is amongst the most versatile, creative and hard-working musicians around. Currently, he is as likely to be found playing or recording solo, or fronting his blues-rock trio. But he has pushed and explored the blues more than any other UK artist over his 30 year professional career, including his Big Blues Band and, with the acclaimed “Live in Tuscany” project, his “World Blues Orchestra“ Big Red Radio.
