We are thrilled to bring this immense talent to play for us here at CICCIC.
Celebrating the release of her third album Gabrielle has performed all over Europe and the USA, playing venues such as Royal Albert Hall, the South Bank and Ronnie Scott’s.
Now a firm favourite in her adopted UK, talented vocalist Gabrielle Ducomble brings a special blend of Gallic charm and sophistication to the British jazz scene.
Gabrielle played with Gilad Atzmon of Talinka (who play here on 20th July) on her last album and currently plays with Nickolas Meier, who played here in March (with Tom Oxley)!
Technically gifted and artistically at home in styles ranging from contemporary jazz to French popular song, this vocalist who, in 2003, reached the final of French “Pop Idol” and then studied jazz at the Guildhall, is now performing with her own quintet, major London big bands and top orchestras in addition to touring, television and radio appearances.
In London she formed the Gabrielle Ducomble Band – Nicolas Meier on guitar, Richard Jones on violin, Nick Kacal on double bass and Saleem Raman on drums. In collaboration with Meier, she wrote many of the unique jazz arrangements of well-known French songs that appear on her albums J’ai Deux Amours (2011) and Notes from Paris (2014).
