About The Artists

Darren Hodge

Darren Hodge is regarded by his peers as one of the top up and coming young guitarists in the country. After picking up his first guitar six years ago at the age of twelve Darren has been astounding audiences up and down the country with his ability and instrumental style of playing.
Darren has been very busy over the last couple of years and has already graced the stage with some of the top guitarists in the world including Tommy Emmanuel, Clive Carroll, Ben Hughes all of whom are at the top of their field and have backed Darren as a future star. He is also an endorsee of the UK’S leading guitar company Tanglewood Guitars who had no hesitation in backing Darren once they heard him perform.
All in the industry who have heard Darren perform agree that this young man is a star of the future. In October 2013 he reached the final 10 of the BBC Radio 2 Young folk awards 2014 although he did not make the final 4 the experience was invaluable and in 2016 Darren came 7th in the international Guitar masters 2016. A true testament is his ever growing talent and amazing guitar playing.

southern belleSouthern Belle

Southern Belle capture the soul of American Old Time music with their magical Banjo & Fiddle duets and offers a unique listening experience to this style of folk music. In fact, artists from Southern Belle sound tested our venue through a folk session they held at CICCIC and they sound great and have a optimistic and friendly performance.

Mitchell & Vincent

David Mitchell and Graham Vincent are an acoustic duo based in Dorset and Somerset who play lively traditional music from the British Isles, mainly on Fiddle and Nylon strung Guitar. Much of their set is instrumental but this is mixed in with a selection of broadly traditional songs.
Playing at a wide variety of festivals, concerts and events all over the South West and beyond, they have been described as performing, “Distinctive and fresh traditional folk,” as well as musicians who “tell stories with their melodies”.

bob gallieBob Gallie

Bob Gallie will tell you himself: ” I carry a lot of baggage around with me “… this is from someone who writes songs that he believes will eventually make sense of his life.

Having performed with Guitarist Brian Tatler from the band Diamond Head earlier on in his life as a Vocalist, Bob was on the road constantly performing in such Venues as the Old Marquee club in London and supporting acts like Dr. Feelgood.
“It’s always the mellow, heartfelt material of Bob’s that leaves me floored; his performance of the beautiful “Please Don’t Cry” was impec-cable, “Blood and Bones” is always spellbinding and throughout it was number after number that seemed to outdo the one from before.” Arran Dutton – Fix Magazine
Bob is a talented songwriter and singer with a history of playing at most festivals around the UK. His work is focused on looking deep into life with great tunes from his acoustic guitar. An honour to have him play at Creative Innovation Centre and a performance not to be missed.

Usually a band of four members who have reinvented the traditional covers band with their own style of the biggest dance hits and floor fillers, Filta, on this occasion are exercising their amazing acoustic talents with two band members Joe Taylor on lead vocals and Huw Weston on keyboards and saxophone.
Not only are these guys extremely talented musicians and singers but always add a dimension to performances that always wow listeners with tight sounds and amazing vocals. They will be performing some of their own songs and material and all we can say is be prepared to be amazed.
