About The Artists
Darren James Hodge is a young man from Taunton, Somerset who is regarded by his peers as one of the top up and coming young guitarists in the country. After picking up his first guitar six years ago at the age of twelve Darren has been astounding audiences up and down the country with his ability and instrumental style of playing.
Darren has been very busy over the last couple of years and has already graced the stage withsome of the top guitarists in the world including Tommy Emmanuel, Clive Carroll, Ben Hughes all of whom are at the top of theirfield and have backed Darren as a future star. He is also an endorsee of the UK’S leading guitar company Tanglewood Guitars who had no hesitation in backing Darren once they heard him perform.
All this has culminated in the completion of his first solo album “The Road To Nashville” which includes no less than seven pieces composed by Darren himself. All in the industry who have heard Darren perform agree that this young man is a star of the future.
In October 2013 he reached the final 10 of the BBC Radio 2 Young folk awards 2014 although he did not make the final 4 the experience was invaluable and he intends to apply again for 2015.
At the start of 2014 Darren was signed to Jelli Records on a full Management/Recording contract which has opened up a whole new chapter in his career. With Bigger venues and is now supporting some of the top artists in the country.
Lee Rahn is a 22 year old Acoustic Singer/Songwriter from Somerset. He is currently studying at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. Lee’s Folk influence and unique vocal, combined with his affable personality made him a local favourite with gig goers throughout the south west and since leaving home to pursue a career in music, he is now starting to create a buzz in the London Acoustic scene’s.

Ex Frontman for Brian Tatler from Diamond Head, Bob Gallie sings from the soul, going back to his roots playing acoustic songs with broken melodies and diverse lyrics…searching for a better world.
Bob is a talented songwriter and singer with a history of playing at most festivals around the UK. His work is focused on looking deep into life with great tunes from his acoustic guitar. An honour to have him play at Creative Innovation Centre and a performance not to be missed.
Matt Sullivan has been playing guitar in various guises over the last 23 years beginning with punk and grind core whose passion soon lead to studying jazz and flamenco. Matt’s performances include solo arrangements of bossa nova, be-bop, swing and flamenco styles influenced by Martin Taylor and Paco de Lucia who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Matt’s performance on this acoustic guitar mashup will bring a lighter touch to mixed guitar genres we have lined up for a great night out.
Guru are an acoustic duo from Taunton, Somerset. They play instrumental pieces on the guitar and dip into different styles whilst they play. The duo was formed by William Papworth and Louis Johnston, who have been playing together since 2009 and have been in several bands together. They are known locally for being in a band called ‘Just Nathan’ and in a new group called ‘Boudicca’.
These young artists are talented and ones to look out for in the future and William and Louis have played at Creative Innovation Centre CIC on many occasions.
