About The Artists
Andy Grant Trio
After fleeing a job in a South African gold mine, Andy made ends meet playing original blues music on street corners from Melbourne to Copenhagen. Now residing in Dorset, he has earned a wide and loyal fan base, winning over audiences time and again with his original, rootsy mixture of Blues, Rock and Jazz. This award winning guitarist* mixes up soulful vocals with great tunes and mean fretboard skills.
Now joined by double bassist Simon Rushbrook, and drummer Dave Wallace, the Trio take their many influences and tear them up on improvisational renditions of Andy’s eclectic, original songs.
Drawing comparisons with artists as diverse as J.J. Cale, Dave Matthews, Led Zeppelin and John Martyn, the band are at home entertaining festivals, bars and anywhere people gather together to hear great live music. Their clean acoustic sound provides the solid foundation for musical genre hopping. A heavy rock riff can morph into a bluegrass tune, and then into a jazz funk groove without ever jarring or feeling out of context.
The three musicians play with energy, passion and precision, always complementing each other and constantly striving to make each moment on stage special. By clocking upwards of 150 shows a year, Andy Grant Trio are becoming masters of their art: Good time blues music with great feel and no boundaries.

*’Best Overall Guitarist Yr 2000’ London’s Guitar Institute
This engaging jazz-influenced singer and guitarist has expanded his horizons tenfold by being at the forefront of several experimental projects and bands during his time at Falmouth University. His performances seldom go unheard, regularly silencing venues in the wake of his melancholic yearning of heartbreak and loneliness. Sam has been gigging frequently this year around the Cornwall area alongside, and as part of the very talented Dan Chapman, offering as a duo; heart-felt harmonious blues, jazz and folk.
‘Sam’s music is influenced by the likes of Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, with a love of Radiohead slipping in there too. He sings a wide variety of covers, mainly jazz, and throws in a few of his own songs for good measure and what treasures they are too! Sam has a powerful and evocative voice, which he seems to adapt with utter perfection to the meaning of each individual song, portraying every lyric beautifully as if it were felt from his own heart. Well worth a listen.’ – Little Big Gig (2013)
