The Honeyfire, formerly known as Wolfhound, are a young all-female trio from Bristol who use acoustic and electric guitars, drums, bass and three part harmonies to create a dark yet harmonious take on the indie-folk genre. They have just recorded their debut self-titled album with Jim Barr (Portishead and Get The Blessing) which is to be released on 11th December through Jelli Records. With a sound ranging from the driving guitar riffs and Bloc Party-esque drums of Parallel to the a cappella vocals and haunting saw in Unheard Voice, the album is a collection of songs about nature, dreamscapes and relationships. Formed as a sister duo in 2010 by Sally and Natalie Joiner, the band became a trio in 2012 with the addition of Anja Quinn. Taught to play drums by Ian Matthews (Kasabian), Anja brought a new dynamic to the band that inspired a renewed confidence. The result was a greater exploration of harmonies, experimentation with new instruments and a darker sound that was to become the theme of their new album. http://thehoneyfire.com
Ged has been a singer-songwriter for far too many years for his own good! He’s played from pubs and clubs to the Royal Festival Hall. He’s managed to do a few gigs in other countries without being deported (so far). His preferred instrument of choice has yet to be invented so, until that day, he makes a valiant effort at forcing tunes out of the guitar and ukulele – not at the same time. He has supported well-known artists when they have been desperate for a support act and headlined gigs where the organisers were even more desperate! Ged has not played a solo gig for many years, having instead preferred to hide in a band called ‘The Jumping Doakies’ for many years. He only agreed, reluctantly, to play this gig as the organisers have promised him free beer for life. CICCIC now has the pleasure of Ged’s quality performance in music as a solo artist and with a variety of genres and songs the audience will have the pleasure of hearing this well-seasoned musician at work.
Lee Rahn is a 22 year old Acoustic Singer/Songwriter from Somerset. He is currently studying at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. Lee’s Folk influence and unique vocal, combined with his affable personality made him a local favourite with gig goers throughout the south west and since leaving home to pursue a career in music, he is now starting to create a buzz in the London Acoustic scene’s. You can also find Lee on Soundcloud, Twitter and Reverbnation! www.reverbnation.com/leerahn
