Youth Music Summer Concert Featuring Ceske Budejovice Youth Orchestra and Hestercombe Centre for Young Musicians – Mon 27 June

Join us for a special one-off night of amazing music from aspiring young musicians from the Czech Republic and England with Ceske Budejovice Youth Orchestra and Hestercombe Centre for Young Musicians, who will perform a range of classical and other music styles for this summer 2016.
There will be plenty of time to settle in as doors open at 18:30 with refreshments and licensed bar, but book early to see these hard working musicians.
Parking is available in the High Street car park just 100 yards away and this truly is a great way to show your appreciation for the growing and amazing young talent at one of Taunton’s premier creative music spaces.
ČESKÉ BUDEJOVICE YOUTH ORCHESTRA
The Ceske Budejovice Youth Orchestra are guests of their twinning town Bridgwater and are performing a special set with other young musicians from Somerset. The orchestra come from the town of Ceske Budejovice (you might already know) and is the home of the famous Budweiser beer..the Budvar variety not the American one. Each musician works with the youth orchestra and perform all over the Czech Republic and like many other youth orchestra’s you’ll be taken on a musical journey with music by Antonio Vivaldi, Antonín Dvořák, Scot Joplin, Alessandro Varon Iza, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and many more.
HESTERCOMBE CENTRE FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS
The Hestercombe Centre for Young Musicians, based at Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton, is part of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. The Guildhall now has four regional Centres where children of any age (5-18) can enjoy a professional and well-rounded music education each Saturday during term time. The Centre in Taunton has recently celebrated its second birthday and it continues to go from strength to strength. Students at HCYM are involved in many different musical activities on Saturdays such as composition, practical workshops, theory of music, small group music-making, orchestra, and writing and recording tracks for an album called On The Record in collaboration with Actiontrack Performance Co.
