Exhibition open – 5th June – 2nd July 2015 9.30am- 12.30pm Monday – Saturday
The Creative Innovation Centre, Paul Street, is pleased to host an important retrospective exhibition of work by Taunton’s best loved artist, Brian Parsons between 4th June and 2nd July.
Brian has been incapacitated for the last few years and we have been working with his family to bring about this long awaited exhibition.
Adored by artists and collectors alike, Brian’s paintings and drawings reflect his passions for life from Jazz and classical music to the landscapes of Ireland and France where he travelled extensively to source ideas for future works.
Ivor Hitchens and Roger Hilton played a pivotal role in his art leading Brian to total abstraction. Although some of Brian’s life drawings are detailed studies, his later drawings have a Hilton-esque quality of simplifying the human form.
This retrospective of Brian’s work is quite simply ‘Colour’ and the exhibits reflect this man so well.
The exhibition will also feature many of Brian’s wonderful sketchbooks.
‘A joyful passionate energetic gift.’
Who is it for
Anyone who loves music, life and colour will appreciate this work.
This exhibition will uplift the spirits and offers the opportunity to obtain a piece of art that will continue to do so for the rest of your life.
