Portrait Clay Head Class – 10 Week Course
10 wk course starting Thursday 1st May 1.30 -4.30pm. Price £120
If you are a complete beginner you will need to buy a start-up kit of tools which the tutor will provide this will cost £30. If you have your own tools your tutor Chris will discuss further options with you on the first session.
Introduction
This Clay portraiture class will introduce you to the skills and techniques to create a life size model of a head in terracotta . A life model will be available.
In Detail
Working from a model, we will be using clay to make a full size head. Simple techniques and help will be given throughout the sessions to find a likeness. On completion we will then take a plaster mould and fill with coloured filler. Polishing and waxing will complete the project.

This 10 week course is ideal for anyone who wants to give it a try or wish to compliment their existing artistic skills.

What You Need to Bring
An apron, any pottery tools you may have and a small towel.
About Your Tutor
Chris Webb is a local professional sculptor of some standing and has 30 years experience in teaching people how to create sculpture in metal, ceramic and stone. He is currently exhibiting his work nationally and creating stone and bronze work on a commission basis. He has recently exhibited at Hampton Court.
