About the Artist
In the 1950s Ronald Cann studied at the West of England College of Art in Bristol. Having obtained a degree in Illustration and the Art Teachers’ Diploma, he taught Art for more than thirty years in Norfolk and Taunton. Now he is very pleased to be able to paint for pleasure.
As well as teaching, he has worked as a freelance designer, specialising in travel literature (guide books and decorative maps) and even Wild West strip cartoons.
He has had numerous one-man shows and contributed to many group exhibitions. His work is in collections in England, Europe, Canada and the USA. He is now inspired by the local scene, and travels in Europe and North America.
All landscapes and other work in this exhibition have been sketched, photographed and researched on the spot.
Alongside his paintings, Ronald will be exhibiting prints, cards and his wonderful sketchbooks.
