School Students Get Overview of Music Industry at CICCIC
Creative Innovation Centre CIC has always worked with schools and education sector to help promote the creative industries and its no surprise that students from Castle School, Taunton spent an afternoon with CICCIC directors to learn more about the music industry and how a music venue operates.
“It is always a pleasure to work with teachers and students to help expand on the possibilities of a creative career and how it works and what are the up’s and down’s” said director Andrew Knutt.
The year 10 class of 15 students ages 14/15yrs learnt about Venues and Live Performances, Health, safety and security at venues, Production and promotion, Marketing, Advertising, Contracts, Promoters, Royalty collection agencies, Artists’ representation e.g Management and PR/Agents.
Nicholas Adams teacher at Castle School said “A huge thank you to Andrew Knutt and CICCIC in helping our BTEC students revise for their ‘Music Industry’ exam this week – a real life experience that will really make a difference!”
CICCIC has also worked with other schools and colleges in the area and continues to encourage knowledge exchange of the creative industries.
