ELIZABETH EARLEY Venue 191
The paintings are personal journeys and slowly evolve, stroke by dab by flick, time over time until adding anything more would be superfluous. The love of the process, the fluidity of the materials, the visual joy of placing the colours and then the quiet delight when it all comes together keeps me going when, inevitably, it all goes to hell in a handbasket, destruction and creation is the name of the game. And occasionally, when I get out of the way for long enough, the paintings make themselves.
