Summer Creative Activity Club for Young People – July 28th-Aug 30th
Do you want to do something which links to your interests, is exciting and creative this summer?
Are you interested in Music, Performance, Arts and Design?
If so we have just the programme for you this summer working with practising artist’s, designers, musicians and performers.
Introduction
The Creative Innovation Centre CIC (CICCIC) in the centre of Taunton is running a 5 week programme of activities which combine different aspects of creative practice to develop a project based on your ideas and interests.
You will create a portfolio which can contribute to your qualifications and if appropriate can create the platform for a creative business proposal.
The programme explores the following creative practices:
- Drawing and painting – Exploring different media, techniques and composition.
- Music – Composition and application – Exploring different music instruments, techniques, sound and media.
- Performing Arts – Responding to music and art using body and movement.
- Media Design and Promotion – Using design and creative tools on the computer to create promotional material.
- Creative Enterprise Project – Creating a creative social enterprise business proposal using personal interests, creative techniques, design and media developed through the workshops.
The programme runs Monday – Friday 9- 4pm from July 28th – Aug 30th and you can stay for any one week or book for several, and you can join at any time.
This inclusive creative activity club is £90 per week or £120 if you wish to include the level 2 qualification. Or book all 5 weeks for £470 or £560 with a level 2 qualification.
What you will take away with you after the five week course?
Top up qualifications and portfolio to support and complement student’s development at school: Each student on the 5 week programme has the opportunity to create a portfolio suitable for assessment which can be awarded a level 2 qualification. The level 2 qualification is accredited to the ‘Enterprise Skills Academy‘ and carries UCAS points for future University applications. This is an additional option and carries an additional fee for marking and accrediting.
All tutors are qualified and experienced creative practitioners.
Visiting Creative Specialists Through the five week programme there will opportunities to meet other professional artists and designers from the ‘Creatives Club’ at CICCIC. They will give talks about their work, give insights into their practice and career and show students how they do their work.
What You Need To Bring
We will provide all materials and equipment but ask that you bring pen and paper and a packed lunch. Drinks will be provided.
If you do have a laptop or iPad we encourage you to bring these.
About Your Tutors
All tutors are qualified and practising professionals with appropriate DBS checks. We also apply a nationally recognised safeguarding policy and meet all government health and safety requirements.
