“The Way I See It”
iPhone photos by Paul Wells
Paul’s interest in photography was nurtured from an early age during childhood in India and he has been taking pictures ever since
His love of cartooning and the directness of pen to paper translates easily to using a phone to capture images
At both art colleges he was influenced by various artist – Andy Warhol, Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns,
Howard Hodgkin and the illustrators, Gerald Scarfe, Ralph Steadman, Quentin Blake and Glen Baxter
In photography the influences were Don McCullin, David Bailey, Robert Capa, Steve McCurry, Cartier-Bresson and Martin Parr
A strong Bauhaus and typographical element at Ravensbourne was very influential in developing the urge to capture light and shade, pattern and form in his pictures…well some of them anyway …
