8 day Study Visit and Art Residential in Croatia—15th– 23rd Oct 2026

A creative journey exploring the breath-taking Dalmatian coastline through a programme of arts activities mixed with relaxing wellness exercises, designed to maximise your enjoyment whilst staying at a 5-star spa retreat.

Set on the shore line of the Adriatic coast the programme introduces you to a number of painting and drawing techniques reflecting and responding to the beautiful surroundings.

The programme also includes creative writing and mindfulness techniques designed to relax and melt away stress whilst finding your inner creative core. Techniques include dedicated writing time, sensory observation, and unedited freewriting with specific prompts.

A creative experience to quieten your inner critic and explore your authentic self.

You can also relax and explore Dubrovnik with a blend of natural beauty and rich history, and enjoy a peaceful arts retreat experience with comfort, a splash of colour and simplicity.

Typical programme:

15th Oct Arrive at accommodation Thursday 7pm . Based on flights from UK

8 pm Meet and greet buffet on the terrace Located on the hotel’s terrace with stunning views across the Adriatic. Enjoy meeting the tutors and other guests on the residential. Includes talk from guest art tutors about the programme

16th  (Friday) Breakfast with coastal views at the Origano’s sunny terrace restaurant. A perfect place to start the day. Served daily 07.00 -11.00

Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity 1 12-3pm Art in the landscape. A journey of exploring and recording your surroundings in and around the retreat. Map included. Review of work in the arts room at 3pm

4- 6pm Relaxation time. Enjoy the spa and health and wellness centre

Activity 2  6-7pm  Lecture in the meeting room ‘The Artof Croatia’ *Peter Weisz and *Jasminka Paunovic Presidents of the World Arts Organisation WAG

7pm Free time – Enjoy the grounds, bars and restaurants

17th (Saturday )Breakfast with coastal views at the Origano’s sunny terrace restaurant. A perfect place to start the day. Served daily 07.00 -11.00

Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity  12-5pm Art in the landscape. Drawing and painting on the island Kolocep . Review of work in the arts room at 5pm

18th (Sunday) Breakfast with coastal views at the Origano’s sunny terrace restaurant. A perfect place to start the day. Served daily 07.00 -11.00

Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity  12-5pm Writing in the landscape. Writing and drawing along the coast – a personal journey . Review of work in the arts room at 5pm

6 pm Free time – Enjoy the retreats grounds, bars and restaurants  Activity 2  6-7pm Lecture in the meeting room, Creative writing – reading by Jasminka Paunovic

7pm Free time – Enjoy the retreats grounds, bars and restaurants

19th     (Monday) Breakfast 07.00 -11.00   Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity  12-3pm Dubrovnik Art in the Cityscape, new and old. A journey of exploring and recording through mark making and composition. Map included. Review of work in the arts room at 3pm

4- 6pm Relaxation time. Enjoy the spa and health and wellness centre

20th  (Tuesday) Breakfast07.00 -11.00 Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity  12-3pm Art in the mindscape. A journey of exploring and recording through mark making and abstract compositions. Review of work in the arts room at 3pm

4- 6pm Relaxation time. Enjoy the spa and health and wellness centre

21st (Wednesday) Breakfast 07.00 -11.00  Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity  12-3pm A personal creative journey. A presentation with peer support and creative team activity. Review of work in the arts room at 3pm

4- 6pm Relaxation time. Enjoy the spa and health and wellness centre

23rd  (Thursday )  Breakfast 07.00 -11.00  Meet your tutor in the art room 11.30 for introduction to the day’s activities.

Activity  12-3pm Art in the landscape. A journey of exploring and recording your surroundings in and around the retreat. Map included. Review of work in the arts room at 3pm 4- 6pm Relaxation time. Enjoy the spa and health and wellness centre

7pm Free time – Enjoy the retreats grounds, bars and restaurants

22nd  Breakfast 07.00 -11.00

11- 1pm Relaxation time. Enjoy the spa and health and wellness centre   Departure 2pm

Tutors include :

*Peter Weisz – A Fine Art artist and the co-president of the World Art Games organization. He is a multilinguist and world traveller .He studied in Paris at the Art Academy (Ecole Nationale Superiore des Beaux Arts, Paris )  Peter is a contemporary visual artist and has exhibited worldwide. He is the author of a complex and highly regarded oeuvre.

*Jasminka Paunović – A poet, dancer and academic and the co-president of the World Art Games organization. Member of Mensa Society, City Board of Human Resources – Osijek, research in the development of Croatia between autopoiesis and alopiesis

* Janet Glynn Smith MA —An internationally experienced Fine Artist practitioner and educator .She has worked with students on art-based residential programmes across the UK and Europe, Her practice focuses on drawing and painting grounded in close observation and supported by sustained, in-depth sketchbook research. Her enigmatic, vibrant paintings are held in permanent collections in the UK, Europe, and the USA. Janet will work alongside participants in the local environment,  providing demonstrations, clear directives , support and encouragement. The unsure will gain confidence and the confident will use more divergent, experimental approaches within their practice.

* Adam Grose  MA— An award winning contemporary artist with 28 years’ experience teaching postgraduate programmes including delivering creative workshops across South West UK .  His practice has been shaped by residencies and travel in India, Mexico, Australia, the Philippines, the USA, Cyprus, and Spain.  He has exhibited widely and been commissioned public works in the UK and internationally, including at the Royal West of England Academy (Network Artist) and Centrespace (Bristol); The World Reimagined (Legacy); Institute of Advanced Studies (Pangaea) and Malaca Instituto (La Sueno de Andalucia), inviting audiences to engage with often overlooked aspectsof our everyday life. 

 

Prices includes full 8 day tutored programme, accommodation including breakfast,

materials, transport to and from the airport at Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Dates based on flights from Bristol UK

A 50% deposit is required by May 1st  2026

CICCIC is a not-for-profit organisation and we love people who love creativity, getting socially involved in the community, but love to support organisations like us by volunteering. Most volunteering is labour based, such as bar work and helping us layout rooms, cleaning and IT related tasks, stewarding at our outdoor events.
