Come and enjoy a fun Barn & Ceilidh dance night out with traditional live barn dance music at CICCIC.

Barn & Ceilidh dancing is a great deal of fun, energetic and a wonderful way to socialise and fun to share with friends. Not only will have the chance to hear some quality live music from 3-piece band Southern Belle and their caller, but you’ll also find the dancing simple to learn and satisfying to dance to.

Southern Belle are, in fact, three blokes—Vic on banjo (and singing when he feels like it), Gareth on guitar, and guest caller Olly, who’s in charge of making you lot dance. Then there’s Su, the newbie baby of the group, sawing away on the fiddle.

They do Old-Time tunes from the Appalachian Mountains, bringing a raw, old-school American sound with plenty of drive—think cross-tuned harmonies, sliding fiddles, and percussive banjo clicks. It’s got a different feel from Irish dance music—grittier, twangier, and with a bit more bite.

The dances are still ceilidh-style, but Olly likes to throw in some of his own weird and wonderful creations. Some will be familiar, others will be complete experiments—so brace yourselves for some unexpected entertainment (for us as much as for you).

Everyone’s welcome—just turn up, expect fun during dances, and have a laugh.
