Tuesday mornings 9.30-12.30 pm  – The Drawing Room

An introductory course for beginners and experienced alike who want to improve they’re drawing skills. Step by step tuition of how to construct a competent drawing using different mediums, pencil, graphite, ink, charcoal etc. Every session includes an A4 ‘aide-memoir’ to build into a ready reference folio.

Whether you’re a beginner, casual or an experienced artist this innovative course will inspire you and take your drawing skills to a new level.

You will learn an in-depth understanding of drawing using your favourite drawing medium, from line fundamentals all the way up to highlights, shadows and texture. Amongst other things you’ll learn how perspective works and how composition will add a new dimension to your art.  You will learn how to instinctively judge proportions by simple deconstruction of an object into fundamental shapes and tones.

This course welcomes all levels of ability from beginner to professional and has no specific entry requirements.

You’ll be required to bring your own materials, an A3 drawing pad with a firm backing board, a range of pencils plus the additional option of charcoals, graphite’s and pen and ink of your choice.
