Doors 7pm. Starts 7.30pm. Adv ticket £10. OTD ticket £12.

Local hero Steve Keniston was a great supporter of live music, CICCIC, and the wider community, and touched the hearts of many people through his volunteering and encouragement of budding musicians. He was much loved and made friends with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Sadly, Steve passed away earlier in 2023, and having been a man that ran music clubs, open mic nights, was a musician and singer,  and man of CICCIC’s music nights,  it was one of his wishes to hold a music event to help raise funds for CICCIC.

With the help of his friends and family we are proud to present an evening of music dedicated to Steve with some of his favourite artists and songs. The Steve Keniston Tribute Concert.

You will not only get the chance to show your respects for Steve and his impact on our lives, but you will also get the chance to see 6 bands/artists perform some amazing music. Artists include:.

Nick Girone-Maddocks

Nick Girone-Maddocks has a long song writing back-catalogue, be it solo or with the seminal UK acoustic group Thunderbridge Bluegrass Band or Nick Girone-Maddocks & His Band, each spreads subject matter far and wide, humorous and deep-thinking too.

Nick’s styles are roots-based, and Nick’s always a good story teller and his solo performances is an engaging affair, with a relaxed performance enabling everyone involved to feel a part of.

Allana Chloe Kingston

Allana, is an acoustic singer and from a young age, Allana found solace in music, discovering that the strings of her guitar and lyrics were the truest companions. Allana’s has experience in musical theatre and previously won awards in music, dance and the arts. Her performance style takes inspiration from country, acoustic and pop songs. Resulting in a sound uniquely her own.

Gary French

Gary French is a veteran performer, having been singing and playing since the ‘60s. He knew Steve for about 25 years and they often went to open mic nights together.

Gary’s easy going stage presence is well known throughout the South West and he will be singing some of Steve’s favourite tunes and that’s not easy with Steve’s love of music from a wide catalogue of genres and artists.

Ross Keniston

Ross is Steve’s son and like his dad is a guitar player, singer and songwriter. Ross has performed at local events and mixes a range of music talents to create his own unique style.

Ross’s debut album ‘Walking Home from Nowhere’ is a great example of his mixed influence success and with his unique take on life means his lyrics have a impactful feeling on those who listen to his music.

The Sweethearts

Steve’s love of Country music was well known. The Sweethearts are a good time band playing great country and Americana songs from the last six decades. They’re here to round off the evening, so bring your dancing shoes!
