At CICCIC we love the fact that creativity and music making can be inspired by one’s values and beliefs, and as we support creativity no matter where it comes from, it is a real honour to have DPQ Spiritual honouring us with some of the best musicians on the circuit.

“Daniel Pogorzelski is one the finest saxophone players I have ever experienced, and if you haven’t seen him perform then this is one opportunity you can’t miss. World class quality.” – Andrew Knutt, CICCIC
A Word from the Band
Music, in our belief, has the ability to bring blessings and healing. It is an amazing and powerful gift and through this project, our aim is to express all this with God’s help. We strongly believe that spirituality in music serves as a powerful tool, allowing us to communicate our emotions, thoughts and ‘inner life’ in a unique and worshipful way which often isn’t possible in any other way.
Led by our beliefs in the holy spirit and drawing inspiration from biblical figures and prophets, as well as musicians such as John Coltrane, Kirk Whalum, Billy Harper, Jimmy Greeme, Pharaoch Sanders, Mahilia Jackson, and many others, we decided to pursue a journey of exploration to convey the blessings of music, and its spirituality, particularly in the realm of jazz.
About the Players

Daniel fell in love with the genre many years ago. While residing in Poland, he took lessons from the renowned Polish saxophonist Piotr Baron and was simultaneously engaged in multiple fusion jazz projects and avant-garde experiments. Currently, he plays primarily with several projects, including tribute to John Coltrane, big bands, spiritual jazz, and gospel. In addition to his other musical pursuits, Daniel Pogorzelski leads an exciting project with his DPQ Jazz Quartet, also performing a blend of straight ahead acoustic jazz influenced by 50s/60s/Blue Note Era as well as Cuban Jazz, Latin, and Fusion music, along with the Cafe Square – Cuban Jazz Fusion Quartet/Quintet.

He graduated under the guidance of one of the leading European double bass player, Daniele Roccato, in 2014. During his studies, he deepened his knowledge of the jazz idiom by attending masterclasses and workshops. Federico was also lucky enough to have the chance to study with many jazz legends including John Abercrombie, Uri Caine, Cameron Brown, Eddie Gomez & Dave Liebman.

Alongside performing, Tom is a music therapist. A graduate of Oxford University, he has an particular academic interest in improvisation and spirituality within clinical contexts.
Paolo Adamo is an Italian, Bristol based jazz drummer and session musician and grew up in a tiny village in the Italian region of Molise and was raised in a musical environment. He showed an early interest in music and in particular a very profound love of the drums.

Paolo appears in many musical projects such as Joe Northwood trio, Nurdle, Ibou Tall & The Jazzmates, Mankala, Tammy Payne’s band “Jukes” featuring Will Harris (bass), Ruth Hamond (keys) and Joe Bradford (trombone).
