Are you a retired musician or retired from another profession but play and create music? Would you like to continue to perform your music to an audience?
If so, then why not sign up to our Retired Musicians Performance Club, where you’ll get the opportunity to flex your creative music playing muscles and share your talents with our audiences.
What’s It All About
We’ve delivered over 2,500 gigs here at CICCIC in Taunton, and some of the best music we have experienced are from those who are well seasoned in the music making and playing business. Many with decades of experience that shows when they perform.
We also know there are many music makers, performers and musicians out there who love to continue making and performing music after retirement, and as it’s essential to continue to have active lives after retirement, what better way than rehearsing and delivering for a music performance in Taunton’s premier independent live music venue.
We also believe that there isn’t enough daytime entertainment for the older generation and the success of our Sunday daytime gigs is testament to that. So, this Retired Musicians Performance Club project isn’t just about you performing but also about providing more opportunities for people who are retired, and others, to enjoy a daytime gig.
How It Works
From September 2026 we will be delivering a range of mid-week daytime gigs (other days/evenings may be included), and by signing up to the Retired Musicians Performance Club you will be able to propose projects, bands, and performances for these event slots.
All genres will be considered and we welcome performances that range from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours.
As we are a not-for-profit organisation we can’t offer a lot of numeration because we don’t have much money, but we can offer support and audiences. For this reason, we encourage players to perform for as little as possible, but we will cover travel costs, provide free drinks and a small contribution, e.g. £30-50 per player. Plus, you’ll be part of a musicians network that will bring social benefits too.
We also have PA, speakers, lights etc. but no sound man so most bands either bring their own sound or use ours, but always do their own sound. See: https://www.creativeinnovationcentre.co.uk/sound-equipment-at-ciccic-loading-parking/ to see what we have.
Why We Have to Vet the Music
When you sign up using the form below you will be asked to provide links to music. This is because we must vet the quality of the music to ensure that it is of a certain standard. After all, we intend to sell tickets to the public for your performance, and these audiences have certain expectations.
The quality of the music or video you send doesn’t have to be of high quality and could be:
- Link to Soundcloud
- Link to YouTube video
- Link for us to download an MP3 or sound file
- Link to website with your music on it
