“Colours” is an exhibition by Georgina and Caitlin which explores and celebrates their relationship as artists with colour, image and form,

Public viewing evening Wed 7th Feb 6-8pm All art lovers welcome.

Exhibition 7th – 24th Feb Wednesday – Saturday 10-4pm ( except Friday after 1pm) at the CICCIC Café gallery.

” Georgina Peters, is an abstract artist based in Taunton. George works from her studio at Flook House creating bold & beautiful abstract art. After briefly studying fauvism while at college, George became fascinated with colour and the effects it can have on our mood and emotions.
With that in mind George set out to create colourful vibrant pieces, full of life that lift your spirit and bring joy when you look at them. ‘If colour can have such an effect on us, why not fill our home with art that sparks joy, love and hope. ‘
Although she has been painting and being creative most of her life, George started selling her original abstract paintings in 2017 and has slowly been growing her signature styles and palettes ever since. “

Caitlin Pengelly ’s practice focuses on nature and the natural world. In recent years her artworks have morphed from cellular, biologically informed pieces into abstracted landscapes. The paintings are created intuitively; driven by memories of or emotions felt whilst exploring a range of environments within Somerset. The resultant paintings aim to reflect these experiences but often appear to be ‘dream like’ due to the nature of their creation and exaggerated, vibrant colours. Some observations are made through research, drawing and photography; several landscapes become intertwined on the painted surface, using a varied range of mark making, expressing the artists deep admiration for the natural world.

“They are snippets of the inside of my head, sometimes imagined, knitted together onto the canvas almost like vines. My desire for the nature to be unhindered and appreciated compels me to paint in this way.”

Meet the artists on Saturdays 10 – 4pm

If traveling a long distance it is advisable to contact the gallery beforehand as there are workshops from time to time in the gallery 01823 337 477 or email info@creativeinnovationcentre.co.uk
