It is with regret that we have to cancel this event due to the government’s announcement for people not to attend theatres, pubs and venues (see https://tinyurl.com/t6ssvqa). Therefore, it would seem appropriate to cancel the event and reschedule it for another date.

Taunton Arts Business Cultural Alliance (TABCA) cordially invite you to an arts and culture providers and community groups meeting and discussion on Thursday March 26th at Creative Innovation Centre CIC (CICCIC), Taunton at 7pm-9pm.
The focus for the evening will be around the possibility of Taunton getting a large multi-purpose venue; whether that be a new build or reclaiming the Gaumont (Mecca Bingo); and what would that mean for your organisation and how your organisation may benefit from such developments.
This meeting has been arranged because it has become clear that many of the music, theatre, arts and other arts and culture organisations have not been represented or canvassed for their input.
We not only encourage the subsidised cultural sector but also the commercial, amateur and participatory which, after all, are where most people find their cultural engagement. We are interested not just in publicly-funded venues, art galleries, theatres and museums, important as these are; but also commercial film, music and literature; young people getting together in a band, amateur choirs, local art clubs and reading groups, and people crafting at home or in local clubs; as well as those engaging in prisons, hospitals and care homes. Whether Dance, Film, Literature, Theatre, Music, Visual Arts, Community, Food & Craft, History & Heritage, Festivals, Traditional Arts and many more we would like to see your organisation as part of this conversation.
This event is for arts and culture providers and community groups only.
TABCA is a group of citizens, community groups, businesses and advocates who have a strong desire to have a say in what they want for Taunton and build a proactive inclusive arts and culture community.
We believe Taunton and its communities are defined by its arts and culture sector: Our cultural organisations, artists, musicians, performers and proud history of creative expression are a crucial part of our identity, vitality, and economic growth. As a membership and service organisation working on behalf of this sector, we believe in supporting the growth of arts organisations and their audiences and bringing back a thriving town centre.
TABCA is part of Somerset Arts Business Cultural Alliance (SABCA); a 150 strong membership and Community Interest Company (not-for-profit) No.12197272. It is free to become a member and you can find more info at http://www.somersetculture.org.uk/taunton/ and http://www.somersetculture.org.uk/.
