Be prepared to experience the soulful vocal style and dynamic stage presence of Kirris Riviere (who performed here in 2017) and his band as they transport you to a haunting swamp of Louisiana blues / R&B, with top quality musicianship and superb vocals.
Kirris Riviere and the Delta du Bruit began a new chapter with with the release of their long-awaited album on November 10th 2023.
Hailing from the earthy blues scene in Bristol, the band have evolved through the spit and sawdust school of the live blues stage in the South West and re-grouping for their studio project, they are quickly gaining recognition for the unique tilt brought to their soulful sound and catchy song writing.
Building a reputation for their electrifying performances has followed. In 2025’s January Blues Festival in London, Ex-Acid Jazz band leader and the band’s newest fan, Mark Cotgrove, hailed Kirris “A huge star, but the world doesn’t know it yet”.
Shortly afterwards the band were voted among the top 20 emerging blues bands in the UK
by the UK Blues Federation. Only a week later and they were voted the best emerging blues act at the UK Blues Rhythm and Rock festival in the iconic Blackpool Winter gardens.
Led in the live arena by Kirris Riviere, (whose skill set includes the stagecraft of an accomplished theatre actor, the vocal delivery of a learned live singer and blues road man, and the songwriting of a published script writer), the band effortlessly blend their diverse musical influences into a unique and compelling sound.
A soulful vocal style and dynamic stage presence have earned him a dedicated following, and he is the charismatic face and the rich, authentic voice of the band’s success.
Joining Kirris in the engine room is Evan Newman, a band leader, producer and songwriter on keys. Previously plying his trade in Jon Amor of The Hoax’s band, also touring with both Eddie Martin and Wille and The Bandits, Newman’s compositions form the foundation of the band’s sound, in a tight collaborative process with the rest of the rhythm section.
Bryan Jones, a dark horse of the bass guitar, has been bringing a deep foundation to Kirris’ music for a decade, and his great work on the album feeds into the subsequent live role of newest recruit Dave “Johnzy” Johns. Alastair Toms, an accomplished guitarist and director in his own right, adds his fiery but knowledgeable playing style to the Album mix, sharing live duties with Neil Smith of “This is The Kit”.
Together, they forge a sound that will transport listeners to a haunting swamp of Louisiana
blues / R&B.
Pete Warner, a live-wire on drums, keeps the band’s rhythm fresh and driving, and always fills their performances with infectious energy. Warner’s skills provide the backbone to the band’s popular live shows, leaving audiences wanting more every single time.
Connecting The Delta du Bruit with their previous musical exploits, they are joined on their album and occasionally on the live stage with their esteemed friends from the UK blues scene, inc Henry Slim (blues harp with Slimline shufflers), Joe Wilkins (lead guitarist of Elles Bailey band), Andrew Neil Hayes (Run Logan Run‘s saxophonist) and not least Jon Amor (lead guitarist from The Hoax).
The release of country blues original “Left Me in the Cold (Railway Tracks)” was an exciting threshold, with the next release, “ The Delta du Bruit ” showing another side of the band; blending swampy rhythm and blues with a contemporary vocal meter, and gritty old school production. Daisy Jane features Jon Amor’s lead guitar, and takes the listener on a stomping frontier land road trip.
Playing Glastonbury ‘23, and topping their sold out album launch with shows around the west country, the band are now signed with TJ concerts who managed their EU dates in Belgium and Holland late in 2023.
They are also working closely with partners in Ireland and France.
In the UK having played at St Harmonicas and Sunday Blues club at The Oval earlier in ‘24, Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues festival, Saltburn Blues club, Blues at the Bay, Bristol Harbour festival, Wirral blues club, Wiltshire blues festival, Tuesday night Blues Club, and 2025’s January Blues Festival, and the Blues Rhythm and Rock Festival in Blackpool.
