If you love The Eagles, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and The Band then be prepared to experience exceptional musicianship, soulful harmonies & lyrical storytelling and dynamic stage presence of 7-piece band The Phoenix River Band. A live music concert you can’t afford to miss.
“I’ve listened to their new album ‘Atlanticana’ over six times and never get bored, and it is up there with some of the great bands of 70’s rock/Americana era, and I can’t wait to see them perform at CICCIC” – Andrew Knutt, Director, CICCIC
The Phoenix River Band are a Bristol-based seven-piece whose sound blends Americana warmth with British soft-rock sensibilities. Their songs combine melodic guitar work, soulful harmonies, and lyrical storytelling rooted in life, loss, and redemption — a sound that has earned them comparisons to The Eagles, Tom Petty, and The Band.
History: The band evolved from A Few Good Men (AFGM), who released the album The River (available on streaming platforms). Building on this foundation, The Phoenix River Band have expanded their lineup and refined their sound to become one of the UK’s most distinctive Americana acts. The band (with a smile) refer to their music style as Atlanticana — a nod to their music’s blend of American and British influences.
With four acclaimed albums — Empty Road, Lights, Under the All-Seeing Eye, and Atlanticana — the band have established themselves as a mature, musically accomplished act. Each release showcases finely crafted songwriting and rich vocal arrangements that resonate deeply with audiences.
Highlights:
- Shared stages with Walter Trout, The Blockheads, Curved Air, Love, Focus, Buddy Whittington, and Wishbone Ash
- Featured on numerous regional and online radio shows across the UK
- Praised for their captivating live performances and tight musicianship, blending classic rock influences with a contemporary Americana feel
To start the evening we also have support act Retini and her songs often speak about various aspects of life with an emphasis on the unplugged acoustic folk genre. Formerly part of the duo Reviva Rush, her music explores a range of acoustic styles, blending vocal harmonies and the melodic instrumental sounds. Her songwriting has been influenced by great folksingers of the 1960’s and she has drawn inspiration from a wide range of different artists and genres.
