Prog Rock Music Night with Two Amazing Bands – The Argonites & Pandamoanium – Sat 30th Aug

Doors 7.30pm. Concert 8.00pm. Tickets £15 online £18 OTD.

If you love the likes of Nightwish, Yes, Jethro Tull, Rush, Genesis, or even Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds, then this event is for you.

With top quality musicianship, well crafted songs, and a night of musical discovery, these two amazing bands will take you on a sound and rock journey you won’t experience elsewhere or forget.

About the Bands

The Argonites

The Argonites are band of musical voyagers diving into the nautical realm of Griffiths and Hollingsworth’s debut album ‘Lost In The Winds Of Time’:

  • “Otherworldly… fantastic piece of art and engineering”
  • “Fan of prog? This is the real deal!!”
  • “Listened to it twice already today! Great work”
  • “If you like prog, or just good music check this out.”

Keyboard wizard Steve Griffiths and singer/songwriter guitarist James Hollingsworth met on the Swansea music scene in the early 90’s, but it wasn’t until 2016 that they got into the studio and began work on what would turn out to be a full-production progressive rock concept album released in December 2024!

They were thrilled to be joined by album cover artist Jan Antonius on bass, Sam Miller (Green Inspiration Band) on drums, and Sean McBride on sax, who will help to bring the studio project into the live realm, including navigation of the epic album closer, ‘Argon’, hence – The Argonites!

The music’s otherworldly style falls squarely into the realms of Acoustic Folk Rock and Progressive Rock, with an orchestral feel, uplifted by Steve’s towering keyboards and Sam Miller’s drums of rolling thunder. In the vein of Nightwish, Yes, Jethro Tull, and even Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds, plans are in place to release a double vinyl gatefold version of the album in early 2025.

Pandamoanium

Welcome to Pandamoanium, a 3 piece instrumental Rock band hailing from Herne Bay in Kent (UK), and for those looking for the pigeon hole reference, they are definitely in the Prog Rock spectrum. But don’t think of the airy fairy prog of the early 70’s, think more Rush without the vocals. Pandamoanium are definitely a Rock band!

Paul Mitchell is the band’s lead guitarist, bringing an artist’s flair to his playing. Alec Tappenden is the band’s extremely versatile bass player. A man who seems to manage to play both bass and rhythm guitar on his 6 stringed bass. A unique player who fills out the middle of Pandamoanium’s sound.

Drummer James Barber is another versatile musician, being equally happy playing soft guitar sections as he is pounding the drums in the Pandamoanium universe.

These 3 musicians come together to provide a technical but highly listenable musical landscape… you can rock out to these guys while still admiring their amazing musical prowess. Their debut album “Paradigm Shift” is out there, but like most bands, they have far outgrown their initial offering, as great as it is.

Pandamoanium are a great live experience, and we definitely recommend checking them out while they are in your area!
