Richard Stevens ‘Head’ Exhibition at CICCIC : 10th – 28th March

Richard’s exhibition opens on Tues 10th with a ‘Special Preview’ of his work on Wed 11th 6-9pm. ( All art lovers welcome). The gallery/cafe  is open weekly Tues – Sat 10 – 4pm. Except Friday afternoons. Exhibition finishes March Sat 28th.

About the exhibition:

I have used the human head as a motif in my painting for many years. These are uncomfortable images, sometimes flirting with pathos, often seeped in futility. I have used the sea in a similar way, placing fragile, often seemingly pointless structures within the seascape, rendering it hopeless and absurd.

Richard Stevens – a Brief CV

After gaining my BA Hons in Fine Art at Norwich School of Art, I went on to complete Post Graduate studies at the Slade School of Fine Art.

Since then I have exhibited widely, notably in group shows at the Barbican Centre with the London Group, the Discerning Eye at Mall Galleries and the Royal Watercolour Society, Bankside. Most recently, I was a finalist in the 2017 National Open Art Competition at the Oxo Tower and in 2019 exhibited in the Bath Open Art Prize and Royal West of England Academy Open.
